Dussehra Inspires Us To Replace Darkness With Inner Light
Sudhir Mahajan , Principal in Podar International School
Sudhir Mahajan, Principal of Podar International School, Indore, extends his warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. He exhorts us with heartfelt words:
आप ऐसे चमको जैसे कुंदन, आप ऐसे महको जैसे चंदन। खुशियों से महका रहे आपके जीवन का उपवन, और दशहरा की इस पावन बेला पर हार्दिक अभिनंदन।
He shares that Dussehra is not only about burning effigies of Ravan but also about burning the inner evils that reside within us—jealousy, arrogance, and negative thoughts. Drawing from the wisdom of the yugas, he explains how in Satya Yuga, Devas and Danavas lived in separate worlds; in Treta Yuga, they shared the same realm, as seen with Lord Ram and Ravan; in Dwapar Yuga, they came into the same family; and in Kalyug, Devas and Danavas live within the same body. This signifies that both goodness and evil coexist in every human being.
He emphasizes that true celebration of Dussehra lies in destroying the inner Ravan and nurturing goodness. He also highlights the power of thoughts, reminding us that while money remains the same when exchanged, noble ideas multiply when shared.
Hence, this festival should inspire us to burn away negative thoughts and spread positivity, creating a chain of goodness in society.
