पिता कभी विगत नहीं होते,पिता बस पिता होते हैं,और हममें ज़िंदा रहते हैं।

पिता कभी स्मृति नहीं बनते,वे सदैव जीवंत रहते हैं।अपनी नातिन की मुस्कान के किनारों पर,अपनी बेटी के सौ दफ़ा टूटकर फिर से खड़े होने के साहस के पीछे के उजालों में,अपने बेटे के बटोरे हुए विश्वास के साथ —वे हमेशा होते हैं।पिता कभी नहीं मरते।

वे सृष्टि के आरंभ से अंत तक का सफर करते हैं,अपनी अर्धांगिनी की कमी अपनी आँखों से,उनकी झुर्रीदार हथेलियों को थामे —वे हाथ छूट भी जाए,तो भी वे दिवंगत नहीं बनते।

वे माँ की सुबह की चाय की प्याली थामे होते हैं,वे अपने दोस्तों के किस्सों में रहते हैं,वे दूर बैठे अपने बच्चों को देखते हैं।वे पौत्र और पौत्रियों  के लिए आशीर्वाद की तरह साथ रहते हैं।

पिता कभी नहीं मरते,पिता सदा जीवंत रहते हैं।पिता कभी विगत नहीं होते,पिता बस पिता होते हैं,और हममें ज़िंदा रहते हैं।
